Flyer Size Guide UK: A6, A5, A4 and A3 Explained

Choose the right flyer size for handouts, menus, promotions, events and local marketing.

SizeDimensionsBest suited to
A6105 × 148mmCompact handouts, vouchers, invites
A5148 × 210mmGeneral leaflets, promotions, takeaway menus
A4210 × 297mmDetailed information, menus, price lists
A3297 × 420mmLarge handouts, display sheets, detailed promotions

Which flyer size is most popular?

A5 is a strong general-purpose choice because it gives enough room for an offer, images and contact details without feeling oversized. It is easy to hand out, insert into bags and use for local promotions.

When should I choose A6?

A6 works well when the message is short and focused. Think discount cards, invitations, appointment promotions, compact menus, takeaway inserts and simple calls to action.

When is A4 better?

A4 gives substantially more room for detailed information. It is useful for menus, service lists, event schedules, price lists or campaigns where several sections need to remain readable.

What about A3 flyers?

A3 is better when you want a much larger visual area. It can work as a large handout, information sheet or lightweight promotional display where A4 feels too restrictive.

Artwork setup

Supply print-ready artwork at the correct finished proportions, with bleed where required and important content kept safely inside the trim. Use CMYK where possible and high-resolution images at final size. See our Artwork Guide for general setup advice.
