Printed Foamex boards and signs
Foamex is the common UK name for rigid PVC foam board: a solid, lightweight sheet with a smooth surface that gives printed signs a clean, finished look. We print it full colour at 5mm thick, in-house at our Denton, Manchester unit, for £7 per square foot with a £2.99 minimum, the same price as our Correx.
What Foamex is good for
- Shop and office signs: opening hours, door signs, wayfinding and reception boards.
- Point of sale: price boards, offer panels and counter signs.
- Menus and hospitality: menu boards, bar and café signage.
- Exhibitions and events: stand panels, information boards and photo displays.
- Safety and information signs on indoor walls and doors.
Can Foamex go outside?
Yes, but it is at its best indoors or in sheltered outdoor spots such as a porch or under a canopy. PVC foam expands and contracts with heat, so a board on a sunny wall can bow if it is screwed down too tightly. Use fixings that allow a little movement, and for long-term exposed outdoor signs consider aluminium composite instead. For temporary signs in the open, Correx is usually better value.
Fixing a Foamex sign
Choose drilled holes in all four corners or the two top corners for screws or stand-off fixings, or eyelets for hanging. Both are included in the price. Indoors, Foamex is light enough to fix with double-sided mounting pads on a clean, smooth wall.
